We look for missing relatives, old friends, classmates, former colleagues and fellow travelers, and we start work right away: in a search, every minute counts. Why People Get Lost
The reasons contact breaks off vary widely:
- unwillingness to communicate after a quarrel;
- a move nobody thought it necessary to mention;
- a long silence after which contact simply faded away;
- an illness that causes memory loss;
- a hospital or the police after an unexpected incident;
- contact details that were exchanged but accidentally lost;
- death.
To rule out unlikely reasons and choose a search strategy, the detective has a detailed conversation with the client. Experience and professional instinct suggest where to start.

What People Come to Us With
A detective is needed not only when a relative has suddenly gone missing. People come to us to restore contact with distant relatives, to find out where an old friend or former colleague lives and works, or to establish an acquaintance’s marital status.
Sometimes we are asked to find information about a relative who died in the Great Patriotic War: to learn where he is buried and to find his relatives so as to get in touch with them.
What to Prepare for a Search
The more you know about a person, the faster the search. Useful information includes:
- full name and date, or at least year, of birth;
- last known address, city, place of work or study;
- names of relatives, friends, mutual acquaintances;
- photos, letters, old phone numbers;
- the circumstances of your last contact.
Even if there is little information, you can still start: an experienced detective knows how to get from one lead to the next.
Delicate Work
A person’s disappearance is always a delicate subject. The outcome of a search cannot be predicted in advance: it may bring the joy of reunion, or news of a death. We understand this and conduct the search with care, supporting the client not only with information but also with understanding when the news turns out to be hard.
